Pre-Prep
Dear Parents
Welcome to the Pre-Prep! I hope you will find these pages useful and entertaining.
As you know, we are a very busy school and cannot hope to portray a full picture of our lively curriculum, but hopefully, the photos will help you keep abreast of some of the wonderful opportunities and experiences that are on offer for your children. You will also get a sense of the happy and relaxed atmosphere in which your child can flourish.
I believe good relationships with parents support children’s learning and I am available each day if you would like to talk to me about your child.
With warm wishes
Shirley Mead
At the Garden centre On Tuesday the reception children visited the garden centre, there was so much to look at! We found bird food and bird boxes as well as boxes for bees and ladybirds. We looked at the many seed packets and chose some to plant at school. There were some amazing cactus plants with huge spikes of all shapes and sizes. Our favourite part was the aquatic section where we saw fish of all sizes and colours. They also had lots of turtles and a snake!

This week we have been focusing on recycling. Today the reception children had a very special visitor, Mr Mead the drummer. The children had the opportunity to play musical instruments made from recycling materials. The children took it in turns to play the barrels, tins and old car parts using wooden sticks to a beat. Little Windlesham was very noisy!!

Mr Fosters birthday
February 29th was Mr Foster’s birthday and he was delighted to have reached his teenage years! We did not know that Mr Foster had a surprise for Little Windlesham. At 12.45 we heard the sound of an ice cream van, we were all so excited! Thank you Mr Foster for treating us all to a yummy ice cream!..
Neil Armstrong visits
Year 1 had the most amazing visitor this week…..Neil Armstrong (who looked very good for his age, must have been the moon air!!)He came to tell us his inspirational story about being the first man to walk on the moon. We also impressed him with our knowledge of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Neil shared with us his amazing space diary and some top secret information that we knew nothing about. We loved the story about Buzz breaking a switch in the ‘Eagle’ and if it had not been for a useful pen they would not have found their way back to Colombia! Thank you Mr Armstrong!!

Week commencing 20th February
The annual Little Windlesham pancake races were as usual very competitive! 8 teams of children battled it out to see who would come out on top this year. The judges were on hand to ensure that the pancakes were flipped at the correct height, fortunately there were no disqualifications! The Bowls were the eventual winners so congratulations to them. The toddler and parents races were equally competitive befitting on the Olympic Year!
