Our admissions process

Visit Windlesham

Our first step is to invite you in for a visit where you will be shown around by our Headmaster, Ben Evans who will give you a thorough insight into life at Windlesham and how we are different from other schools. If you are new to the area, we can advise on places to stay.

Finding out a bit more

For us to find out more about your child, we will request their latest school report and CAT4 scores (if applicable) to give us an indication of their current academic levels and insight into how we could support them as a pupil at Windlesham both in an educational and pastoral sense.

Taster day (currently not possible)

The next stage is to register and then we’ll arrange a taster session or overnight stay (depending on whether boarding is an option) and your child will be allocated a host for their stay. Their host will ensure they are happy and experiencing all parts of the school.

Places are offered on the basis of the 'Taster' visit, the informal assessment, a School Report and CAT4 scores (if available). If an offer is made a completed contract and deposit will be required to confirm a place.

Place confirmed

Once a place is confirmed entry is usually the beginning of the Autumn term in September, the Spring term in January or the Summer term in April - in certain circumstances we do accept applications at other times during the academic year.

The admissions team will provide all the details you need to ensure your families transition to Windlesham is a smooth one. We have an on-line portal that provides easy access to the information you need and our team are available to answer any questions you might have. We can also help with information on the local area and estate agents.

Leavers' Destinations

As a school with a non-selective admissions policy we are very proud of the tremendous success achieved by our pupils, each fulfilling their own potential during their time at Windlesham.

100% of our Leavers win places at their senior schools of choice and about 25% of pupils normally win scholarships including, last year, two Eton King’s Scholarship awards.

Starting School in September 2020

I am pleased to outline some of the preparations that are underway for the start of school in September.

We have created a document with an introduction by our new Headmaster Ben Evans, providing an overview of how we are seeking to manage the return to school in terms of practical implementations and the strategies we are seeking to employ to mitigate the risks of Covid-19, view the document: ‘A Safe Return to Windlesham

Whilst there is still much to plan and these are somewhat uncertain times, we are very optimistic about the new academic year and the return of the children to Windlesham. We hope that this assists you with your planning and you too can look forward to an exciting autumn term. There will be a greater level of detail in our follow up communication later in August. This will include a pupils’ guide which will reassure the children and help them adapt.
