Windlesham House is committed to fostering healthy attitudes towards physical and mental wellbeing.
Nurturing our pupils to develop emotional resilience and to build positive relationships with others is at the core our pastoral care.
Reflecting the spirit of openness and freedom at Windlesham House, our pupils are actively encouraged to seek solace whenever they need to, within a safe and warm environment that puts their individual needs first.
Mutley, our beloved cat, continues to lend an ear and is very popular with children and staff alike.
Where pupils need further support with emotional wellbeing, one to one counselling sessions are available with our pastoral care team.
Our Medical Centre, fondly referred to as the medi, is a modern, self-contained, fully equipped facility, providing both day and boarding pupils with the most up to date, confidential health care provision. Our head nurse and her team provide care during the week and at weekends.
The school doctor also holds a weekly surgery in the medi whilst being available in the local NHS surgery found in Steyning for the rest of the week.
With three, light and airy, cosy bedrooms children can also stay overnight at the medi if they need to. Each room has a TV and a selection of films and books to help children to relax and to keep young minds entertained when feeling unwell or simply needing some space and ‘time out’.
