This week has been a busy one for the Year 6 pupils, as they have hosted, cooked and served over 30 sets of parents and staff over the last three nights, and I could not be more proud of them. This was the culmination of five months of meticulous menu planning, practising, and tasting, and the result was a gourmet extravaganza. We have had vegan meals, traditional English fare, Asian dishes, plenty of meals containing chorizo and even homemade ice cream. I’ve always thought that my subject is one that covers so many others, and this event certainly proves it. Maths, geography, history, science, you name it, and I am sure it will be there; even PE when the children were running up and down the corridor when service was called. The children are sure to have memories to treasure forever, with plenty of skills learnt in the process.
