Microclimates project work

Year 7 brought learning to life this week. As part of the Diploma & Futures programme, pupils were given the opportunity to collect data from the wonderful Windlesham House grounds. Answering the question ‘If we need to provide Mr Hallam with a new bench after a hard day teaching Year 7, where would it go?’

The pupils looked at the temperature, wind speed, wind direction, aspect and shelter. They worked in groups collecting data using an anemometer (wind) and thermometer (temperature in a specific area).

This data will be used for the project work on microclimates at Windlesham House School. The pupils will have to graph the data and provide explanation of the results with the aim of providing a reasoned answer to the question.
