Our Pre-Prep children enjoy an outstanding range of co-curricular activities that develop new skills, build confidence and create lasting friendships. Every activity is designed to inspire, challenge and bring joy to our youngest pupils.
We have a wide range of on-site co-curricular activities for our Pre-Prep children. These activities take place during lunchtimes and after school, providing opportunities for children to explore interests, develop talents and simply have fun with friends.
All activities are carefully designed to be age-appropriate, with experienced staff and coaches who understand the developmental needs of children aged four to seven. We encourage children to try new activities and discover hidden talents they might not otherwise explore.
Physical activity is essential for young children’s development, health and happiness. Our sporting co-curricular programme builds fundamental movement skills, coordination, balance and confidence. Children learn about teamwork, following instructions and perseverance in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
All Pre-Prep children have swimming as part of their timetabled curriculum, using our 25-metre indoor heated pool. Additional swimming clubs allow children to develop water confidence and technique further. Our qualified swimming instructors ensure every child progresses at their own pace in a safe, encouraging environment.
We are proud to partner with Chelsea Football Club Foundation which provides expert coaching for our youngest pupils. These sessions focus on developing ball skills, spatial awareness and team cooperation through fun, age-appropriate games and activities.
Drama, music and dance activities allow children to express themselves creatively and build confidence performing in front of others. Our performing arts clubs culminate in regular showcases where parents can celebrate their children’s achievements.
Pre-Prep children can begin learning musical instruments from Year 1 onwards. We offer lessons in piano, violin, recorder and percussion instruments. Our music teachers specialize in teaching young beginners and make learning fun and rewarding. Children have opportunities to perform in informal concerts throughout the year.
Art clubs provide opportunities for children to experiment with different materials, techniques and creative processes. From painting and drawing to sculpture and collage, children develop fine motor skills while expressing their imagination and ideas visually.
Chess introduces strategic thinking, problem-solving and concentration in an engaging way. Our chess club welcomes complete beginners, teaching the game through stories, puzzles and friendly matches.
Additional language clubs complement our curriculum language programme, offering children the chance to deepen their knowledge or explore new languages through songs, games, and cultural activities.
Our forest school programme is an integral part of pre-prep life, providing regular opportunities for outdoor learning in our beautiful woodland areas. Children develop resilience, creativity and environmental awareness through seasonal activities such as den building, fire lighting (supervised), natural craftsand wildlife observation.
Forest school sessions run in all weathers, teaching children to dress appropriately and embrace outdoor experiences throughout the year. These sessions build independence, risk assessment skills, and a deep connection with the natural world.

Booking activities
Parents can book co-curricular activities through our online portal at the start of each term. We send out activity timetables 3 weeks before term begins, allowing families to plan. Most activities are included in school fees, with only specialist external coaching incurring additional charges.
We encourage children to try a variety of activities but also ensure they have time to rest and play freely. Most pre-prep children attend between two and four activities per week though this varies by individual interest and energy levels. We work with parents to find the right balance for each child.
Absolutely. All our Pre-Prep activities welcome beginners and focus on building skills progressively in a supportive, encouraging environment. Our coaches and activity leaders are experienced in working with young children and ensure everyone feels successful and included.
We understand that children’s interests evolve, and we encourage them to explore different activities. If your child wishes to stop an activity, simply let us know. We usually ask children to complete the current half-term commitment before changing, helping them develop persistence while respecting their preferences.
