We understand that modern family life requires flexibility. Our comprehensive wrap-around care provides safe, nurturing childcare before and after the school day, giving parents peace of mind and children more time with their friends.

What wrap-around care options are available?

At Windlesham House, the school day begins at 8.30am however, breakfast and supervision are available from 7.15am if required. When the school day finishes at 3.30pm, the Pre-Prep children can attend our well-staffed and resourced after school club, known as Windlesham Gems which runs until 6.00pm with supper available until 6.30pm if required.

Windlesham Gems offers the opportunity for the children to relax and play with their friends after a busy day. It also serves as a point from which they can be taken to and collected from the many co-curricular activities on offer. This flexibility allows parents to manage work commitments while knowing their children are safe, happy and engaged.

How does breakfast club support busy families?

Early morning care and breakfast

Our breakfast club opens at 7.15am every school day, providing a calm, welcoming start to the day for children who arrive before the official school opening. Children enjoy a healthy breakfast in a supervised environment, with options including cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt and juice.

The breakfast club atmosphere is relaxed and sociable, allowing children to wake up gently, chat with friends and prepare for the school day ahead. Staff members ensure children are settled and ready to move to their classrooms when the school day officially begins at 8.30am.

What happens at Windlesham Gems after school club?

Structure and activities

Windlesham Gems runs from 3.30pm until 6.00pm every school day during term time. The club provides a structured yet relaxed environment where children can unwind after lessons, complete homework if appropriate for their age, play games, do crafts or simply relax with friends.

Our experienced staff plan a variety of activities each day, but children are free to choose what they wish to do. Some prefer quiet activities like reading or drawing, while others enjoy outdoor play or board games. The club uses both indoor and outdoor spaces, weather permitting, ensuring children have fresh air and physical activity.

Supper provision

For children staying until 6.00pm or later, we provide a nutritious supper. Our kitchen prepares fresh, balanced meals that cater to different dietary requirements and preferences. Supper time is sociable and relaxed, providing another opportunity for children to build friendships across year groups.

Booking and payment

Wrap-around care can be booked on a regular weekly basis or as ad-hoc sessions when needed. Regular bookings receive a 10% discount. Payment is added to your termly school bill, making administration simple and convenient.

What about holiday care?

WACA Windlesham Activity Camp

WACA is a holiday club for children from Reception to Year 8. It includes an array of multi-sport sessions and specialist coaching from professional coaches and athletes, as well as fun indoor and outdoor activities like capture the flag. It is designed to give all children the opportunity to thrive in an active, energetic and safe environment where they can experiment with new sports across the impressive school grounds and laugh their way through the holiday period.

WACA runs during selected school holidays throughout the year. Booking opens at the start of each term with details sent to all families via email. The camp welcomes Windlesham House pupils providing a wonderful opportunity to make new friends.

Can I book wrap-around care for just 1 or 2 days per week?

Yes, absolutely. You can book regular weekly sessions for specific days, or you can book ad-hoc sessions as and when you need them. We understand that family schedules vary, and we aim to be as flexible as possible to support your needs.

What happens if my child is attending a co-curricular activity after school?

If your child has a co-curricular activity booked, they will be escorted to that activity by our staff. After the activity finishes, they can either be collected or return to Windlesham Gems until your collection time. This seamless coordination means you do not need to worry about multiple pick-up times.

Is breakfast club available every day?

Yes, breakfast club runs every school day from 7.15am. You can book it on a regular basis or use it occasionally when needed. No advance booking is required for occasional use, though we appreciate a quick call or email to let us know your child is coming.

What supervision ratios do you maintain?

We maintain excellent staff-to-child ratios in all our wrap-around care provision. For Pre-Prep children, we typically have one staff member for every eight children, often exceeding this ratio to ensure every child receives appropriate attention and care.
