Weekly pastoral theme – taking risks

As you may be aware, one of our ACE learning habits challenges the children to be risk takers in their lessons. We want the children to spread their wings and step outside their comfort zones in order to push themselves beyond what their perceived capabilities are. The conversations this week have been about taking responsible risks and the numerous benefits it can bring to your overall development. In addition, the children have been able to think about the risk versus reward theory and how it applies to their decision making. As the famous saying goes, a ship may well be safe at anchor in harbour, but that is not what it was designed for!
