It has been a very busy week in PSHE which has been delightful seeing the high level commitment to learning.

Year 5 have been exploring children’s rights. They have started to look at the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and have been interested to see that what they consider should be rights, really are rights!

Year 6 have been thinking about their goals for this coming year and exploring the possible barriers that might get in the way. They drew their goals on bunting and their worries about meeting their goals were hung on trees so the wind could blow them away. They understand that exploring barriers helps them to prepare for any eventualities.

Year 7 compared their similarities and differences from one another and looked at how different kinds of influences can affect them. They also recalled as many different emotions as they could and realised that these can be categorised into four ‘gateway’ emotions – happy, sad, angry and frightened.

Year 8 have been thinking deeply about their own identities and how these have been influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors.
