Life at Windlesham2019-06-06T12:37:56+00:00

We often find that parents seeking a preparatory school education for their child will want their child to look back on preparatory school as the ‘best days of their lives’. Windlesham takes this seriously, and we take great pride in our warm, nurturing atmosphere, in which each child is valued as an individual and learns to value others.

We want each and every child to flourish in his or her own way at this school, building confidence and forging childhood friendships that will continue into their adult lives. Indeed, we hope ‘Windlesham is more like home, whilst home is never like school’.

To this end, having fun is an essential ingredient of life at Windlesham. We want the children to enjoy themselves in the classroom, on the sports field, through music and the performing arts, as well as from our extensive choice of over 80 extra-curricular activities which include plenty of options from clay pigeon shooting, ballet, riding, polo, textiles to chess. The children are also encouraged to ‘take time out’ to play in the safe fields and trees of the school grounds supervised by our team of staff.

We have outstanding teachers and pastoral carers at Windlesham who regularly talk to parents about how we can help their child become a self-assured individual who can deal with academic challenges, know their strengths and are fully-prepared eventually to sit their Common entrance exams and start senior school.

We are passionate about sport and there are countless opportunities for the children to represent Windlesham in an exceptional range of games and sports played in our wonderful rural grounds and a flood lit astro pitch. This year we also have the exciting addition of a new, state of the art swimming pool and sports hall due for completion by December 2017.
