We often see Bernie around the school. Sometimes he sits right in the middle of the playing fields but usually he can be seen in the Summer flying high above the school.
Living at school gives us access to all of Windlesham’s amazing facilities, the fields and woods and of course the helpful teachers and House parents in the mornings and evenings and at weekends too.
Sharing bedrooms with your friends is great fun and we love our comfy room where we can relax and watch a film on treat night, enjoying hot chocolate and some crisps or chocolate!
These are our all-weather Astro pitches where we can play and train any time of the year!
These are the outdoor Cricket nets. (We have indoor Cricket nets too in our fantastic new Sports Centre.)
This is the famous South Downs Way right next to the school – a huge open green space full of animals, plants and adventure!
We use this long distance footpath and bridleway all the time for field trips, elderflower picking to make our own cordial and lots of other activities like cycling and camping.
You can see for miles and some days you can see the sea.
The first hole of our very own 9 hole golf course at Windlesham!
This is where we have loads of lovely food throughout the day including ‘little tea’ in the afternoon.
The food is great at Windlesham! There is always a lot of choice and we have themed-days when you get to try food from other countries.
There are plenty of snacks and whatever you like to eat you can find something to suit your diets and appetite, from healthy salads, fruit and vegetables to lots of tasty treats too.
This is where we sleep. We have pictures of our friends and family by our beds.
We love our comfy playroom too… where we play games, watch TV and have our treat night with films, sweets, crips and hot chocolate!
It’s really good fun being with your friends and living at school gives us access to all of Windlesham’s amazing facilities, the fields and woods and of course the helpful teachers and House parents in the mornings and evenings and at weekends too.
The ‘Harrow Studio’ is where we have drama lessons, rehearsals, presentations and performances.
The Pre-Prep is called “Little Windlesham” by everyone here.
We are all one school and share all our facilities like the Swimming Pool and IT Hub… but Little Windlesham is where the younger boys and girls aged 4 to 7 years spend most of their time learning in their own classrooms and playing in their large playground.
We call this the MFT, short for ‘the Malden Family Theatre’.
This is where big music productions, concerts and assemblies happen.
We also hold our annual music event ‘Windlesham Rocks’ in the MFT. It is an all-singing, all-dancing music experience with a professional backing band, loads of light and an excited audience!
We also have a Christmas Fair here every year. We get given some pocket money to spend on sweets and presents. The choir sings carols and you can visit Santa’s grotto.
We also have Art exhibitions, poetry and public speaking competitions, debates and visiting speakers in the MFT.
Windlesham has its own observatory where we do star gazing!
Did you know in our solar system, there is only one star that we know of – our own sun!
These are the sports fields where we train and we play lots of different sports against other schools including Athletics, Football, Rounders, Rugby and Cricket.
Our school has 65 acres of woods, playing fields and sports fields. There is so much space at Windlesham to play and do sports!
The ‘Italian Gardens’ are a colourful, relaxing area right next to the lawn tennis courts.
There is a wigwam in the Italian Gardens and a summer house, as well as trees to climb and places to hide!
A lot of Day children come to the school each day by Minibus.
We also go on special school trips and excursions in Windlesham’s Minibuses, and to play in sports matches against other schools too.
And the minibuses are used for taking boarders home to London and for collecting and dropping boarders to the airport.
‘Philip The Pheasant’ can be seen everywhere.
He hides in the bushes and then pops out!
He loves to run along the pitches and make faces at the car drivers! (Naughty Philip!)
We sometimes have lessons in our amazing Forest School.
The Forest School is used by ‘Little Windlesham’ Pre-Prep children and by older children, who all have special lessons here amongst the trees.
There are fantastic treehouses at Windlesham right by the Camp in the woods.
In the woods, near the Camp we have special outdoor Pizza Ovens.
We love it when we make and cook delicious pizzas here.
We can sit by the Camp fire, tell stories and eat our pizzas.
