Windlesham House hosted a William Shakespeare workshop morning for Year 5 & 6 pupils from local primary schools. The workshop was a fun interactive introduction to Shakespeare’s plays, in which the children acted out the main scenes from Romeo and Juliet as well as chanting the spells of the witches in Macbeth. They also acted as the fairies, Puck, Oberon and Titania, from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and finished the day with a game around the four main characters of the play.

Using our wonderful grounds, which provided the perfect settings for various scenes; a witches coven, a fairies’ grotto and the famous balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet, allowed the stories to come to life. This was a very exciting morning and a lot of fun for the visiting children.
