Year 8 were delighted to welcome Sophie McKenzie, author of the Girl, Missing series. She spoke about her journey from journalist to author and shared valuable insights into the writing process. One of her key messages was the importance of tenacity: read widely, read what you love, and when it comes to writing, keep going – write anything until your story begins to take shape.
Our Year 8 panel particularly enjoyed hearing Sophie’s thoughtful responses to their questions, gaining inspiration and confidence from her honest advice. We left the session feeling motivated and ready to start crafting our own stories later today.
