Year 7 were involved in a team building and leadership programme which was led by Wilderness Expertise. The children started by looking at the leadership and planning skills demonstrated throughout the movie Toy Story. They were able to put these plans into practice through a series of tasks including Abyss and buggy building. After lunch the teams planned their routes to camp, packed their bags and headed into the South Downs. Blessed with perfect conditions the groups made their way up to Chanctonbury Ring via a number of different routes and then into their campsites. They pitched their tents and spent some time in camp, before heading to bed for a well earned rest. Morning came with yet more sunshine for the walk home and into a final challenge which reinforced the learning from the previous day. Then it was time for a hot shower and back to school. The children made some great memories and learnt a great deal.
