The Diploma Programme enhances the core curriculum for our oldest pupils with additional subjects, extended projects and opportunities to develop specialized interests. All Years 7 & 8 pupils participate in the diploma, choosing pathways that align with their strengths and aspirations.
The programme recognizes that pupils in these years are developing more sophisticated interests and preparing for the increased independence of senior school. It provides structure for deeper exploration while developing essential skills for lifelong learning.

Diploma sessions are timetabled alongside the core curriculum. Pupils have dedicated diploma time each week where they work on extended projects, attend specialist sessions, or pursue independent research with mentor support.
Pupils choose diploma pathways in consultation with teachers and parents, typically at the start of Year 7. Choices can be adjusted if interests change or new strengths emerge. Most pupils select two to three diploma pathways aligned with their strengths and interests.
Diploma work is assessed through a combination of project work, presentations and examinations. Pupils receive detailed feedback on their progress. Successful completion of diploma pathways is recognized through certificates presented at the end of Year 8. Diploma achievements are reported to senior schools as part of pupil references.
