Windlesham House, in collaboration with Aquatic 2012 CIC, Russell’s Swim School and Drenched Mini Water Polo, proudly welcomed six local local primary schools to Windlesham House School for the national top up swimming initiative. In addition, over 50 children from Thomas A Becket School joined the programme for a dedicated week of swimming lessons and water safety education as part of Aquatic 2012’s Access Aquatics programme. The initiative aims to bridge the gap in swimming education and ensure every child has the opportunity to learn essential water safety skills, particularly those who may have missed out during the pandemic or face barriers to access.

Special thanks go to Windlesham House School, not only for hosting the week at their excellent pool facilities but also for generously providing transport for the six participating primary schools, making it possible for so many children to take part.

Russell Clough, head of swimming at Windlesham House School and Director at Aquatic 2012 CIC, said “It’s been a fantastic week welcoming seven schools to Windlesham for swimming and water safety. Watching the children grow in confidence and ability in the water is what this partnership is all about. We’re proud to be working alongside Russell’s Swim School and Drenched to make aquatic education accessible to all.”

Matthew White, managing director of Aquatic 2012 CIC and founder of Drenched Mini Water Polo, added “Our Access Aquatics programme is built on the belief that every child should have the opportunity to be safe and confident in the water. Seeing over 50 children from Thomas A Becket take part this week is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do—removing barriers so that no child is left behind when it comes to swimming and water safety.”

With a mission to expand aquatic opportunities and inclusivity, Aquatic 2012 CIC continues to make a meaningful impact across the region. Learn more about the Access Aquatics programme here.
