Our special coronation assembly this morning saw the MFT packed to the rafters with pupils and all staff and it was the perfect way to celebrate and commemorate tomorrow’s event. Given that it has been 70 years since the last coronation, I hope I can also be forgiven for overrunning slightly! Individual musical performances, poetry readings, 30 fascinating coronation facts from the history department and some brilliant videos of work completed this week from Reception and Year 3 all meant it was another of those Windlesham special occasions. The #GreatBritKnit campaign meant that the theatre was bedecked in red, white and blue finger knitted swags along with knitted blankets, pom-pom trees and God’s Eyes. In the absence of having the indomitable Norris McWhirter present, I informally announced a finger knitting world record broken and I very much doubt any other school in the country was able to boast such a display!
