What makes Windlesham House’s teaching staff exceptional?

Subject specialists

Our teachers are specialists in their subjects with genuine passion for their disciplines. Many hold advanced degrees and regularly attend professional development courses to stay at the forefront of educational practice. This expertise means children learn from teachers who truly love what they teach.

Small class teaching

With small class sizes, our teachers know each child as an individual. They understand learning styles, strengths and areas for development, adapting their teaching to ensure every child can succeed. This personal approach makes all the difference to children’s confidence and progress.

Commitment to children

Beyond academic expertise, our staff show genuine care for pupils’ wellbeing and happiness. Many live on site or nearby, attending sports matches, concerts and school events outside teaching hours. This commitment creates the family atmosphere that makes Windlesham House special.

How does the pastoral team support pupil wellbeing?

Houseparents and matrons

Our boarding houses are led by experienced heads of boarding supported by matrons who provide care and support around the clock. They ensure boarders feel safe, happy and at home, managing everything from bedtime routines to weekend activities with warmth and professionalism.

Form tutors

Every child has a form tutor who knows them well and monitors their academic progress, social development and overall wellbeing. Form tutors are the first point of contact for parents and provide continuity throughout the school year.

Wellbeing team

Our dedicated wellbeing team includes counsellors and mental health specialists who support children navigating challenges. This proactive approach to emotional wellbeing helps children develop resilience and healthy coping strategies.
