Head Master’s Welcome

Windlesham House School is one of the country’s leading IAPS co-educational day and boarding preparatory schools for children aged 4 to 13. There are approximately 300 pupils – just over 250 in the main school (7-13) and just under 50 in our pre-prep (4-7), which is affectionately known as Little Windlesham.

The School nestles in 65 glorious acres in the South Downs countryside in West Sussex and gives every type of child the opportunity to reach their potential in whatever sphere of life that may be. It is within easy reach of the Brighton, Horsham and Chichester districts, just over an hour from central London and close to Gatwick and Heathrow Airports. Established in 1837, Windlesham moved to its current site between Findon and Washington in 1934. It was the first school in the country to be established as a preparatory school and in 1967 became the first IAPS co-educational school.

Whilst academic excellence and success are a high priority, we nurture a very caring, family atmosphere. Rachel and I put every effort into getting to know well each and every child and we derive enormous pleasure in seeing children flourish in what is a wonderful environment and an unrivalled setting. A very talented and totally committed staff make the happiness, security and personal development of each child their over-riding concern.

Please do come and visit us, to see for yourself the good manners, friendliness and self-confidence of the children. I will be delighted to show you round personally and give you the chance to feel and see what Windlesham has to offer you and your child.
