Admissions Process

Windlesham is a non-selective School. This means there are no entrance examinations and children are accepted following an interview with the Headmaster.
Places are allocated upon each child’s position on the waiting list and provided we have places available.
Upon receipt of an admissions enquiry we directly send out a prospectus pack. You are very welcome to make an appointment to visit the School at any time. Visits take place on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Appointments can be made through our Admissions Office, 01903 874701 or admissions@windlesham.com
The Headmaster, Richard Foster, will be delighted to show you round personally and give you the chance to feel and see what Windlesham has to offer you and your family.
Registration
Registration is the initial stage of the Admissions procedure and follows a visit. Early registration is advised. Registration Forms are available from the Admissions Office or a form can be downloaded below. A non-returnable Registration fee of £100 should accompany your completed Registration Form payable to The Malden Trust Ltd.
Entry
Boys and girls are generally accepted into the Prep School at the beginning of the academic year following their 7th birthday, entering as either boarding or day pupils. Older pupils can also be accepted provided places are available. Our Pre-prep, Little Windlesham, generally accepts children into Reception in the September following their 4th birthday.
Children usually start at the beginning of the academic year in September. However, we do accept children in January and April. The Summer Term has become a very popular term to commence boarding in recent years, especially for overseas pupils.
Prospective pupils entering into the Prep School are invited to come and spend a whole day and/or night before their entry. During this taster session, an assessment is made of their academic potential for setting purposes. Pre-prep children are not assessed into Reception but they are from Year 1 onwards.
Fees are payable in advance and must be received by the first day of term. A full term’s notice must be given prior to the removal of a child from the School, otherwise a full term’s fees in lieu of notice will be charged. “Extras” are kept to a minimum and include those activities not included within the established curriculum, such as individual music lessons.
We do hope we have managed to answer all your questions about admission into Windlesham. However, if you have any other queries, please contact our Admissions Office, 01903 874701 or admissions@windlesham.com
