Activities
Having fun is an essential ingredient of life at Windlesham. The school achieves this in the classroom, on the sports field, through music and drama, as well as from a choice of more than 250 activities, from fencing to wind-surfing.
The Activities Programme has been designed to offer the children a range of different experiences whilst at school. Many children go on to discover new interests and learn various important life skills through the Activities Programme.
We like the children to have a good balance of activities and tutors monitor the individual commitments of each child.
Activities vary from mountain biking and climbing to felt making and cooking. Seniors activities are on Mondays and Thursdays and Junior Activities take place on Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesday afternoon is activities afternoon for everyone from 2pm, when children are either playing in a school match or taking part in an activity.
Each child has at least two activities slots per week and the younger children try up to ten different activities per term. The older children are more familiar with the activities and are therefore able to choose an activity for an entire term. At certain times the children are required for other school related activities such as play rehearsals, music practice, squad training …
